I had the joy of photographing the Bradley extended family during their recent getaway in Wahoo, Nebraska. This session had all the ingredients for a memorable shoot: great light, an easygoing crew, and a super cool Airbnb that brought everyone together for the weekend.
This wasn’t just any vacation. It was a rare chance for three generations to be in the same place at the same time. Grandparents, cousins, siblings, and even the family pup made it into the mix. With Wahoo’s peaceful backdrop and the cozy, modern feel of their Airbnb, the session had a laid-back, documentary-style vibe that matched the family’s energy perfectly.
Why I Love Extended Family Sessions
Extended family sessions like this one are a favorite of mine. There’s something powerful about capturing all the connections—grandparents laughing with grandkids, siblings catching up, cousins running wild in the yard. It’s the kind of session that only happens once in a while, and it always feels important to get it right.
We kept things simple and unhurried. I focused on real moments over posed perfection: belly laughs during cornhole games, quiet hugs on the porch, and the in-between glances that say more than a posed smile ever could.
